The K8 wireless microphone is a mid-range, good-quality collar microphone made by ICON, and it works best for iPhones and Android phones. However, the K8 wireless microphone doesn’t work with DSLR cameras, so you can’t connect it to a DSLR.
As far as the quality is concerned, it’s top-notch. The issues with most low-to-mid-range wireless microphones are that when the subject gets a few yards away from the phone, the audio is cut off or the distortion is noticed in the recording. This isn’t the case with the K8 wireless microphone.
The K8 wireless microphone box contains a transmitter (collar mic), receiver, extension switches for Lightning ports, and micro USB ports. Whereas this microphone has a Type-C connector.
According to the user manual, the K8 wireless microphone has 20 meters of accessible reception. We managed to test the K8 wireless microphone at approx. 14 to 16 meters distance, and its performance was flawless at that point. However, we didn’t have the opportunity to go any further.
